What's Your Reaction:

As we reported earlier, IFC is stepping up its comedy game in a different way by picking up 90s cult comedy series such as "Mr. Show," "The Larry Sanders Show" and "Undeclared."

Now, IFC is taking things a step further by inserting interviews with comedians by Scott Aukerman, host of the widely popular podcast Comedy Death-Ray, in between the cult classics.

In this highly interesting preview clip, Andy Dick reveals to Aukerman that he was actually considered for a role on the beloved Mitchell Hurwitz series "Arrested Development" but turned it down due to a scheduling conflict.

Could Dick have possibly played the quirky Tobias Funke instead of David Cross? Or was he actually considered to play main man Michael Bluth? Dick doesn't know, but Aukerman quickly helps him imagine what a role on the much-respected series might have been like for him.

The cult comedy block featuring Comedy Death Ray will air Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 10:00-11:30 p.m. EST on IFC.

I'm glad AD ended up the way it did, it's hard to imagine Dick in any of the roles.

Glad to see Scott Aukerman's success, he's hilarious and a fantastic interviewer. Looks like IFC got the idea right with this block, although really with only 18 episodes it's hard to think how long they can run Freaks and Geeks, re-watch-ability aside.

I thought Andy Dick was the poster child of arrested development.

Thank goodness there was a scheduling conflict. I would never have watched if he had been cast.

He is not, nor will he ever be in the same realm as David Cross.

We as a country are very glad you were too busy.

Hey, somebody has to showcase comedy, since Comedy Central refuses to show anything but Scrubs and movies that were marginally funny before they got censored for tv.

He is singularly unfunny.

Andy Dick was probably too high to have any clarity about what anything he did in the early 2000s.

I think he could have played Buster.
People think Andy is a total flake but do they forget the five years he was on Newsradio.
He went toe to toe with some of the best in the business and many times upstaged Phil Hartman.
Phil Hartman was as good as it gets so that is saying something.

Andy Dick turned down Arrested Development because Los Angeles has a big enough audience for him to annoy.

BS. I love the series. I can't imagine him as a tobias. Frankly I cannot stand him as an actor and I might not have been interested in this series if he had been in it. Arrested Development was perfect except for its short run.
