Lucian Bute (born February 28, 1980 in Pechea, Galaţi County) is a Romanian-Canadian professional boxer living and fighting out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Bute is the current IBF Super Middleweight champion.
Bute has a professional record of 27 wins (22 KOs), 0 losses and 0 draws. He is trained by Stéphan Larouche, who also trained former world champions Éric Lucas and Leonard Doroftei.
On June 15, 2007, Bute faced super middleweight contender and former Olympian Sakio Bika at the Bell Centre in Montreal in an elimination bout for the IBF title. Bute beat Bika by unanimous decision (116-111, 118-109, 118-109) and, as a result, he got his shot at the IBF super middleweight champion Alejandro Berrio on October 19, 2007. Bute beat Berrio via TKO in the 11th round. With this victory, Bute became the third Romanian professional boxing world champion after Leonard Doroftei and Mihai Leu.
On October 24, 2008, Bute defeated Mexico's Librado Andrade by unanimous decision but the end of the fight was marred with controversy. While Bute dominated his opponent through most of the fight, he nearly lost the title when he was knocked down by Andrade with two seconds left in the 12th and final round. When the referee, Marlon B. Wright, reached the eight count, the bell sounding the end of the match rang. However, the referee, stopped the count temporarily, when he signaled Andrade to return to his corner.
Bute defeated three-time world title challenger Fulgencio Zúñiga on March 13, 2009. In round four, Bute knocked Zúñiga down with a left uppercut to the body. Zúñiga got up, but Bute continued the assault, eventually leading to a stoppage by the referee.
On November 29, 2009, Lucian Bute fought Andrade in a rematch and won with a fourth-round KO at Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City, Canada. Bute retained his IBF super middleweight title with the victory and is ready to unite the title.
On April 17, 2010, Bute stopped Edison Miranda at 1:22 of the third round to retain his IBF super middleweight title in Montreal. The result was a technical knockout.
Bute's last fight was on October 15, 2010 against veteran contender Jesse Brinkley, who Bute defeated by TKO in the 9th round, after knocking him down in both the 5th and 8th round.

During an HBO telecast of his fight against Yusaf Mack, it was reported that Andrade lost 14 of his 16 amateur bouts. At one point, Andrade worked the morning shifts at a Jack in the Box fast food restaurant while training at the gym in the afternoon.
In the Kessler fight, Andrade showed an incredible ability to endure an all-out assault. Kessler landed 348 punches, almost all to the head of Andrade. Throughout the punishment, Andrade showed no facial, or mental wear and tear and continued to press the fight each round by coming forward, at Kessler. Prior to the last round, the two fighters, in a rare display of respect in boxing, embraced each other rather than simply touching gloves. The judges at ringside, Tom Kaczmarek, Tom Miller and John Keane, all had the bout score 120-108 in favor of Mikkel Kessler. The fight was aired live on HBO's Boxing After Dark.
On October 6, 2007 on a Marco Antonio Barrera vs Manny Pacquiao II main event undercard fight, Andrade won the vacant USBA 168-pound title with a 7th-round TKO of Yusaf Mack.
On March 22, 2008, Andrade scored the biggest victory of his career against former IBF number one contender Robert Stieglitz of Germany. Andrade dominated the fight from the opening round with uppercuts and body shots that left Stieglitz continually on the defensive. Landing a solid right in the eighth round, Stieglitz was left staggered. Andrade followed up with flurry of shots that led to referee stop the fight, giving Andrade a TKO victory. As this was an eliminator bout, Andrade has been lined up for a fight with IBF Super Middleweight champion Lucian Bute.
Andrade defeated Vitali Tsypko in Montreal on April 4, 2009, in an IBF Super Middleweight eliminator, thus prompting a rematch with Lucian Bute, which took place November 28, 2009 in Quebec City. Bute defeated Andrade by KO in the fourth round, by an uppercut to the body, which followed shortly after a left jab which sent Andrade to the floor for the first time.
In Quebec City on ESPN's Friday Night Fights, Librado beat Eric Lucas. The fight was stopped due to cuts over Eric's left eye, Andrade was leading on all three scorecards.

Joshua Clottey (born March 16, 1976) is a Ghanaian professional boxer. Born in Accra, Ghana, Clottey now lives in the Bronx, New York. He is the former IBF welterweight champion. He's also the brother of veteran boxers Judas Clottey and Emmanuel Clottey.
Clottey rebounded from the loss by winning the African Boxing Union welterweight title in his next fight. He then rolled off a 10 fight winning streak highlighted by his first win on American soil and capture of several minor welterweight and middleweight titles. The streak culminated in an IBF intercontinental welterweight title. On December 2, 2006, Clottey earned his first shot at a world title but broke his hand in the fourth round of his fight against World Boxing Organization champion Antonio Margarito. On April 7, 2007, Clottey earned a unanimous decision over Diego Corrales, in what was Corrales's final fight before his death. In December 2007, Clottey positioned himself for another title shot with a win over prospect Shamone Alvarez. Clottey beat Zab Judah on August 2, 2008, for the IBF welterweight title vacated by Antonio Margarito.

On March 3, 2007, Miranda won a unanimous decision over Allan Green at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Green knocked down Miranda with a left hook that landed on Miranda's chin in round eight. Despite that, Miranda dominated most of the fight and knocked Green down twice in the final round. The fight was fought at a catchweight of 162 lbs, foreshadowing Miranda's problems at making weight.
On January 11, 2008, Miranda viciously knocked out David Banks in the third round at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The fight began with two feeling out rounds that saw Miranda use a consistent left jab to set up rights over the top and underneath of Banks' guard. In round three, Miranda landed a big right hand that caused Banks to collapse backwards and fall awkwardly halfway through the ropes. The knockout was named "Knockout of the Year" by ESPN.com's Dan Rafael.
LUCIAN BUTE VS EDISON MIRANDA
On April 17 2010, Edison Miranda fought Lucian Bute in Montreal, Quebec, at Bell center in front of nearly 15000 fans. Miranda lost the first two rounds and he was knocked out during the third round with a solid right uppercut to the jaw. Miranda got back on his feet but the referee decided to stop the fight seconds after.

He went to Northern Michigan University as part of the United States Olympic Education Center. Viloria bested both Glenn Donaire in the semi-finals, and future world champion Nonito Donaire in the finals of the 2000 US Olympic Trials.
Viloria went to the Sydney Olympics as a medal favorite, but lost to eventual gold medalist Brahim Asloum of France, 6-4. Viloria landed dozens of body punches but the judges did not award points for his blows.
He defended it once successfully in 2006 and was undefeated in 20 bouts (1 was a no-contest). Viloria's unbeaten streak ended when Mexican Omar Niño Romero won by decision.
In a rematch held on November 18, 2006 at Las Vegas, Nevada, Romero held onto his title with a controversial majority draw decision, with Viloria knocking down Niño twice. Following the fight, Niño was stripped of his title when he failed a post fight drug test being tested positive for methamphetamines and the second match between them was declared a no-contest.
On April 14, 2007, he fought Edgar Sosa for the vacant WBC title but lost a decision. Viloria then decided to move up to the super flyweight division and began training under former champion, Roberto Garcia, at La Colonia Gym in Oxnard, California.
Brian Viloria (20-2) won a unanimous decision against Jose Garcia Bernal (26-11-1) in his debut at the super flyweight division at the Alameda Swap Meet in Los Angeles, California on January 5, 2008. Viloria knocked Bernal down in the 8th (final) round. All 3 judges scored 78-72 for Viloria. Viloria followed that win by scoring four more victories (Cesar Lopez by Unanimous Decision, Fred Heberto Valdez by a 3rd round KO, Juan Javier Lagos by Unanimous Decision, and Benjamin Garcia by 2nd round KO).
Viloria won his first defense of his IBF light flyweight title on August 29, 2009 by unanimous decision against Jesus Iribe.
For his second defense, Viloria fought Carlos Tamara of Colombia on January 23, 2010. Though leading in points, the referee called a halt to the bout in Tamara's favor as Viloria was close to passing out in the twelfth round. Thus ended Viloria's title reign. Moments following the bout, Viloria passed out due to extreme exhaustion.
