Adele's extraordinary U.K. sales show no signs of abating, as "21"  (XL) started a seventh week atop the album chart yesterday and "Someone Like You" a fourth at No. 1 on the singles survey. Meanwhile, Elbow scored their highest-ever U.K. chart ranking as "Build A Rocket Boys!" (Fiction/Universal) debuted at No. 2.

Official Charts Company data showed "21" selling another 161,000 copies last week, a spectacular tally for a seventh week on release,  to take its 48-day total to 1,182,000 units. Its predecessor "19" held at No. 4, while "Rolling in the Deep" dipped 5-9 on the singles chart (selling another 95,000 copies in the process) and "Make You Feel My Love," from the last album, fell 27-33.

Elbow's new album is the much-anticipated follow-up to their belated, Mercury Prize-winning 2008 breakthrough set "The Seldom Seen Kid," which opened at No. 5 and went on to double platinum certification for U.K. shipments of 600,000 units.

Jessie J's "Who You Are" (Lava/Universal Island) fell one place from its No. 2 debut last week, but its former chart-topping single "Price Tag," featuring B.o.B., posted a fourth consecutive week at No. 2. "Build A Rocket Boys!" had opening sales of 78,000.

Also arriving in the album top ten were R.E.M.'s "Collapse Into Now" (Warner Bros./Warner Music) at No. 5, the band's 11th U.K. top ten over a period of almost exactly 20 years; Noah and the Whale's "Last Night On Earth" (Mercury/Universal), at No. 8, as the single "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N." jumped 31-19; and Avril Lavigne's "Goodbye Lullaby" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment) at No. 9. Her single "What The Hell" improved 25-16.

Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell expanded his catalogue of hit albums with No. 11 debut for "Moon Over  Ireland" (DMG TV), remarkably his 30th top 75 album in a 23-year span.  On the separate compilations chart, "Anthems Hip-Hop" (Ministry of  Sound/Sony Music Entertainment) started a second week at No. 1.

On the singles chart, Rihanna's "S&M" (Def Jam/Universal) and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (Interscope/Universal) held at Nos. 3 and respectively. U.S. rapper Wiz Khalifa's former Billboard Hot 100 No. 1  "Black and Yellow" (Atlantic/Warner Music) debuted at No. 5; a cover by Hype Squad, on the Secret R label, had reached No. 35 last week.
