First State -- Full Circle
In a comparatively short time frame Holland's Sander van der Waal released his debut album on In Trance We Trust, before changing lanes for the new creative aesthetic of its Magik Muzik follow-up. Now, in 2014, he completes that initial three-album arc with 'Full Circle'. For this new long-player, the spectrum of Van der Waal's compound sound becomes ever yet more expansive. Frequency hopping across genre bands - often inside the confines of a single track, it beguiles the audiophile by exploring the EDM route less travelled. The only predictable feature of 'Full Circle' is its entire lack of predictability!
Also along for this sonic ride, he's brought many a standout vocalist, to the album, with performances by international singer-songwriters including Eric Lumiere, Sarah Howells, Relyk, Tyler Sherritt and others. Never knowing exactly what's around the corner has rarely provided such a thrall-ish, edge-of-the-seat type listening experience!
On the release of his third album, Sander stated: "'Full Circle' represents my journey as an artist and song composer, as I feel this album stands for the completion of an era and my development as an artist. With this album I've followed my heart and some songs took days while others took weeks or sometimes even months. Even though an album is never finished for a producer until it leaves it's studio, the same goes for a circle as it has no beginning nor and ending."
Artistically, 'Full Circle' drops its first compass point with the vocoderizing ministrations of 'I Need Your Love' - its analogue MOOG-isms bestowing a Mylo-esque driven groove and floor-sense to 'Full Circle's onset.
Further in, Sander reunites with the first of several 'Changing Lanes' vocal alumni. Paper Aeroplanes front-woman Sarah Howells brings first vocal anthemia to 'Skies On Fire', and further in laments the loss of a love supreme on the TKO of 'Seeing Stars'. Her acoustics initially come accompanied by flecked guitar and pianoforte, before Sander roguishly diverts and subverts them, rolling the snares and space-shot synth lines in underneath.
Another 'Changing Lanes' returnee is songstress Kyler 'Relyk' England, who etches her soulful burn onto First State's 3rd. Last heard ruling on Tiësto's 'Take Me' in 2013, she brings her tones and inescapably catchy and empathetic lyrics to 'Take The Fall', as Sander stokes the production engine with trance-fired synthery.
Equally accomplished in its vocal-free regions, First State's instrumentals bring 'Full Circle' further sonic grades and shades. An unexpectedly soulful spin to the EDM sound on 'Lourdes'; old-skool M1 piano uplift on 'World's Apart' and an astonishing sound collage of violins and tech-through-elec grind on 'Anunnaki' all interconnect its vocal numbers.
Be in no doubt, the moment you think you have 'Full Circle's genre categorized, it will delight in confounding you! Eternally toughened by retro-futuristic chemical FX, 'Humanoid' blows back in consciously knockabout fashion to Daft Punk's 'Robot Rock'. 'One Push' meanwhile aces unchecked frenetic festival-ism: think an on-acid Tangerine Dream or Moroder's 'Tony's Theme' in a head-on electrode collision with Erol Alkan.
Elsewhere Y chromosome vocalists are every bit as well represented. Across a deuce of tracks, US singer/songwriter Tyler Sherritt further broadens 'Full Circle's vocal spread with some indie-rock elements and edges. Introspection, vocal contemplation and lyrical existentialism are quick to hand on 'Maze' and 'I'll Never Die'. Just as fine is the floor illumination of 'Glow', which features the vocals and lyrics of Eric 'Anthem'/'Love Will Bring It Back Around' Lumiere.
Drawing on sonic stylistic influences and inspirations from dance music and way, way beyond, 'Full Circle' brings a new track collection-come-expedition that through eclectic, amazing tangents and curves, grips the attention from primary beat to terminal point. It's out March 3rd through Magik Muzik.

First State is a project of Sander van Dien and Shane Halcon. First State has released numerous singles, remixes and albums and compilations, most of which gained recognition within the world wide Trance scene. Ralphie B, left the group in 2009 and Shane Halcon joined soon after.
In 2010, the record label First State Music was announced together with First State Deep and First State House. Three new partner labels of Black Hole Recordings. First State Music is owned and managed by Sander van Dien and Shane Halcon.

Armin van Buuren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑr.mɪn vɑn ˈby.rə(n)]), OON (born 25 December 1976 in Leiden, Netherlands) is a Dutch trance producer and DJ. Between 2007 and 2010, he was voted number one in DJ Magazine's annual top 100 list of the most popular DJs. In the 2011 list, he ranked in second place. Since 2001, Van Buuren has hosted a weekly radio show called A State of Trance, which claims to have around 15 million weekly listeners in 26 countries, which would make it one of the most listened-to radio shows in the world. His 2008 studio album, Imagine, entered the Dutch album chart at #1, a first for a dance music artist in Dutch music history.
Armin van Buuren was born in Leiden, Netherlands on 25 December 1976, but grew up in Koudekerk aan den Rijn. Van Buuren started making music when he was 14.[citation needed] He was inspired by French electronic music composer, Jean Michel Jarre, and wished to become a great electronic music composer like Jarre.[citation needed]
He finished high school at the Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden in 1995, and left for college to study law at Leiden University. While studying law, Van Buuren's interest for making music blossomed, and he began working as a DJ in a local club called Nexus. As his musical career began to take off, he put his law degree on hold, although he did return to finish law school in 2003.

First State -- Full Circle
In a comparatively short time frame Holland's Sander van der Waal released his debut album on In Trance We Trust, before changing lanes for the new creative aesthetic of its Magik Muzik follow-up. Now, in 2014, he completes that initial three-album arc with 'Full Circle'. For this new long-player, the spectrum of Van der Waal's compound sound becomes ever yet more expansive. Frequency hopping across genre bands - often inside the confines of a single track, it beguiles the audiophile by exploring the EDM route less travelled. The only predictable feature of 'Full Circle' is its entire lack of predictability!
Also along for this sonic ride, he's brought many a standout vocalist, to the album, with performances by international singer-songwriters including Eric Lumiere, Sarah Howells, Relyk, Tyler Sherritt and others. Never knowing exactly what's around the corner has rarely provided such a thrall-ish, edge-of-the-seat type listening experience!
On the release of his third album, Sander stated: "'Full Circle' represents my journey as an artist and song composer, as I feel this album stands for the completion of an era and my development as an artist. With this album I've followed my heart and some songs took days while others took weeks or sometimes even months. Even though an album is never finished for a producer until it leaves it's studio, the same goes for a circle as it has no beginning nor and ending."
Artistically, 'Full Circle' drops its first compass point with the vocoderizing ministrations of 'I Need Your Love' - its analogue MOOG-isms bestowing a Mylo-esque driven groove and floor-sense to 'Full Circle's onset.
Further in, Sander reunites with the first of several 'Changing Lanes' vocal alumni. Paper Aeroplanes front-woman Sarah Howells brings first vocal anthemia to 'Skies On Fire', and further in laments the loss of a love supreme on the TKO of 'Seeing Stars'. Her acoustics initially come accompanied by flecked guitar and pianoforte, before Sander roguishly diverts and subverts them, rolling the snares and space-shot synth lines in underneath.
Another 'Changing Lanes' returnee is songstress Kyler 'Relyk' England, who etches her soulful burn onto First State's 3rd. Last heard ruling on Tiësto's 'Take Me' in 2013, she brings her tones and inescapably catchy and empathetic lyrics to 'Take The Fall', as Sander stokes the production engine with trance-fired synthery.
Equally accomplished in its vocal-free regions, First State's instrumentals bring 'Full Circle' further sonic grades and shades. An unexpectedly soulful spin to the EDM sound on 'Lourdes'; old-skool M1 piano uplift on 'World's Apart' and an astonishing sound collage of violins and tech-through-elec grind on 'Anunnaki' all interconnect its vocal numbers.
Be in no doubt, the moment you think you have 'Full Circle's genre categorized, it will delight in confounding you! Eternally toughened by retro-futuristic chemical FX, 'Humanoid' blows back in consciously knockabout fashion to Daft Punk's 'Robot Rock'. 'One Push' meanwhile aces unchecked frenetic festival-ism: think an on-acid Tangerine Dream or Moroder's 'Tony's Theme' in a head-on electrode collision with Erol Alkan.
Elsewhere Y chromosome vocalists are every bit as well represented. Across a deuce of tracks, US singer/songwriter Tyler Sherritt further broadens 'Full Circle's vocal spread with some indie-rock elements and edges. Introspection, vocal contemplation and lyrical existentialism are quick to hand on 'Maze' and 'I'll Never Die'. Just as fine is the floor illumination of 'Glow', which features the vocals and lyrics of Eric 'Anthem'/'Love Will Bring It Back Around' Lumiere.
Drawing on sonic stylistic influences and inspirations from dance music and way, way beyond, 'Full Circle' brings a new track collection-come-expedition that through eclectic, amazing tangents and curves, grips the attention from primary beat to terminal point. It's out March 3rd through Magik Muzik.

The track highlights the new Progressive House appeal First State is aiming for while still maintaining his signature melodic influence. Singer-songwriter, Sarah Howells delivers her vocals underlined by the alternative guitar and catchy mandolin backing during her verses, turning the entire track into a unique vocal progressive monster that has everything in it to become both a club and radio hit single.

It's been a while but First State is back with a new single entitled "Reverie", featuring the vocals of the great Sarah Howells. Released on our Magik Muzik label.
"Reverie" is of course a track from First State's most recent album "Changing Lanes" and had long been on the list of favourites of many fans. Now finally with this release First State returns to the original version and delivers his own Pounding Club Mix which indeed has rougher beats and an edgier sound; still keeping the strength of the album version. When the break sets in with lovely classic piano we get to enjoy the touching vocals of Sarah Howells, moving towards a lovely climax layered with smooth strings. It is one of those dance floor hits that makes everybody to sing along while they're moving their feet.
Jeziel Quintela, Jquintel, & Manufactured Superstars stayed close to the original but made sure to add an irresistible club feel to it. "Reverie" will sound like a dream for the party people in the clubs!

First State has been working hard to finish his upcoming mix compilation called "The Whole Nine Yards", which will feature some of his own productions, one of them being "Maze".
This is the latest in a long line of new productions that see First State highlight his personal approach on the Progressive House sound. "Maze" features a complex arrangement of rough ripping synths, signature classical piano riffs and live drums that are All strung together with a definitive hammering kick drum that sets the Progressive drive, whilst the captivating vocals of Tyler Sherritt pierce through... and listen out for the "heartbeat" in the initial breakdown of the track that almost literally brings the track, and the dance floor to life.
All of the above considered, this track is the perfect example of the new "Trouse" genre that everyone's hyping about. With Tyler Sheritt's vocals and the tight production of First State, "Maze" is a true chart topper!

Kittleman Promises Bipartisanship and Sustainability, New Initiatives for Ellicott City and Village Centers, While Spurring Economic Growth
County Executive Allan H. Kittleman today delivered his first State of the County address and promised a bipartisan, cooperative effort to achieve long- term sustainability and economic growth.
The newly elected County Executive pledged to work cooperatively with the County Council. “Citizens elected us to find solutions to problems and issues that affect their everyday lives. They expect us to work together, and work for them,” Kittleman said.
Kittleman placed emphasis on an expanded Office of Sustainability. While earlier efforts at sustainability concentrated on the environment, the Kittleman administration will include the economy, agriculture, and infrastructure as well. “Sustainability is balance, and balance is what will drive our decisions in County Government,” Kittleman said.
Examples of programs aimed at encouraging sustainability will include projects like composting of food waste currently underway at Pointers Run Elementary School, and providing affordable, nutritious meals within neighborhoods. “We encourage people to choose a healthier diet,” he said
Executive Kittleman also announced a proposal to commit $2.5 million to flood mitigation projects in Ellicott City. “We’ve done enough studies and planning,” he said. “It’s time to start the work….Our business owners and residents of Main Street shouldn’t have to panic every time the water starts rising,” Kittleman said. He also announced an initiative to bring free WiFi to downtown Ellicott City.
Revitalization will also be a critical element of sustainability and future growth.
One good example is downtown Columbia, Kittleman said. “New condos and apartments, new office and retail space, new restaurants, a Whole Foods in the old Rouse Company Building and a reconfigured Mall, and plans underway for the Inner Arbor within Symphony Woods; Downtown Columbia is looking like a real city. This is what James Rouse envisioned 50 years ago.”
The future of village centers in Long Reach and Oakland Mills, and the Route 1 Corridor are also priorities. Using public-private partnerships to reduce the impact on taxpayers, “We will craft redevelopment plans that put greater emphasis on what the community wants,” Kittleman said.
New businesses and innovative economic growth will also be featured, Kittleman said, pointing to the success of high-tech manufacturers like the 3-D printing company, M3D, in Maple Lawn, run by a graduate of River Hill High school. Working with other elected officials, plans are underway to make the Route 1 Corridor the “Cyber Hub” of Central Maryland, Kittleman said.
Educational opportunities remain the center of our success, Kittleman reminded the business and civic leaders at the Turf Valley Conference Center. “Our schools are great because of our commitment to excellence…among parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and your elected officials.” To make our great schools better, Kittleman announced creation of an Early Childhood Education Taskforce, which will be chaired by County Councilwoman Mary Kay Sigaty.
County standouts like Hammond High School’s Jody Zepp, recently named Maryland Teacher of the Year, and River Hill High School graduate Michael Campanaro, who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens, were recognized along with leaders in public safety, agriculture, and human services.
Kittleman promised fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget, but returned repeatedly to themes of innovation and job growth. Now is the time, he said, to make Howard County “a model sustainable community.”

Working with other elected officials, plans are underway to make the Route 1 Corridor the “Cyber Hub” of Central Maryland, Kittleman said.
Educational opportunities remain the center of our success, Kittleman reminded the business and civic leaders at the Turf Valley Conference Center. “Our schools are great because of our commitment to excellence…among parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and your elected officials.” To make our great schools better, Kittleman announced creation of an Early Childhood Education Taskforce, which will be chaired by County Councilwoman Mary Kay Sigaty.
County standouts like Hammond High School’s Jody Zepp, recently named Maryland Teacher of the Year, and River Hill High School graduate Michael Campanaro, who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens, were recognized along with leaders in public safety, agriculture, and human services.
Kittleman promised fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget, but returned repeatedly to themes of innovation and job growth. Now is the time, he said, to make Howard County “a model sustainable community.”

Old Swedes Church to Join First State National Historical Park
WILMINGTON, Del. – On Monday, May 11, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Old Swedes Church, the Reverend Patricia Downing, Rector of Trinity Parish, will sign the cooperative easement agreement adding Old Swedes Church to the First State National Historical Park. Senator Carper, the driving force behind the Park’s creation, will also attend.

Old Swedes Church, in Wilmington, Delaware, is the oldest church in the United States standing as originally built and still in use as a house of worship. It was erected in 1698–1699 by descendants of the Swedish colonists who crossed the Atlantic aboard the Kalmar Nyckel in 1638. The pulpit is the oldest known pulpit in the United States. Reflecting over three hundred years of American history, Old Swedes Church has a unique story to share.
“We have worked with Senator Carper and the National Park Service for nearly a decade to make this day a reality,” said Rev. Downing. “Today, we add a jewel in the heart of Wilmington to Delaware’s National Historical Park. Fifteen generations have worshiped in and preserved Old Swedes Church. On December 9th, 2014, Congress approved the First State National Historical Park Act of 2013, creating the first and only national park in Delaware. The legislation that passed incorporated Old Swedes Church, along with three other new sites (Fort Christina, John Dickinson Plantation, and the Ryves Hold House) into First State NHP. The legislation also officially changed First State National Monument in Delaware to First State National Historical Park. Similar to the national monument, the First State National Historical Park will focus on Delaware’s history, from early Dutch, Swedish and English settlements through Delaware becoming the first state.
