Joondalup-Wanneroo Times
JOONDALUP-WANNEROO TIMES is distributed each Tuesday to homes and businesses in the City of Joondalup (as far north as Burns Beach Road) and City of Wanneroo (as far west as Wanneroo Road).
The area is home to first home buyers (including working couples and young families) attracted to the area’s affordable housing and coastal lifestyle, baby-boomers with teenage children in more established suburbs and some of Perth’s most prestigious properties. Household type favours couples with dependent children followed by couples with no dependent children (notably young working couples and baby-boomers) and there is a very significant UK born population. A well above average proportion of homes are being purchased making it the most common tenure type and separate houses account for 91% of dwellings.
The occupation profile is dominated by white collar workers (professionals, managers, clerical & sales) followed by technical/trades and household incomes are generally above the Perth average. Population growth will be strong in the long-term as stocks of residential land are released for housing. In the next 10 years, the population of City of Wanneroo is expected to increase by 50% (WA Planning Commission). In the 12 months to June 2006, City of Wanneroo recorded over ¾ billion dollars in residential building approvals, with over 150 million dollars for City of Joondalup (Source:HIA WA: incl additions/alterations).
