A MELBOURNE woman has become the fourth motorcyclist to die on Victorian roads within three days in a collision with a four-wheel drive in Melbourne's east.
Police believe the 4WD collided with the oncoming motorcycle as the vehicle made a right-hand turn about 8.20pm (AEDT) yesterday.
The 43-year-old East Ringwood woman was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived and she died at the scene of the accident in Surrey Hills.
Police are investigating whether she was the rider or riding pillion.
A 42-year-old Mornington Peninsula man who was also on the bike was taken to the Alfred Hospital with serious internal injuries.
The 55-year-old driver of the 4WD was not injured.
Victoria's road toll stands at 46 compared with 55 at the same time last year.
