Townsville Bulletin

The Townsville Bulletin has been serving the people of Townsville and North Queensland for more than a century, providing local, national, and international news. Our readers turn to their local paper everyday as a source of information on local events, entertainment, and the issues that affect their local community.

The Townsville Bulletin is circulated over a substantial part of North Queensland. The distribution area extends north to Mission Beach, west to Mount Isa, and south to Proserpine.

The city of Townsville is one of the strongest regional economies within Australia, and is in an exciting period of robust growth and development. The Townsville and North Queensland economies will continue to grow and flourish over the next decade, supported by continuing development, growing government sector, and a strong mining industry. Townsville can also lay claim to be the sporting capital of North Queensland with the North Queensland Cowboys, North Queensland Fury, Townsville Crocodiles, Townsville Fire and Townsville 400 V8 race all calling Townsville home.

As a local newspaper, the Townsville Bulletin has a strong connection and affinity with the local community, with seven out of ten Townsville residents reading the paper at least once a week. It is because of this strong connection to the community that the Townsville Bulletin can prove to be such an attractive medium for businesses to communicate with the Townsville and wider North Queensland market.

The mass reach of the Townsville Bulletin allows exceptional penetration into a wide range of demographics, with the option for advertisers to take a more targeted approach by advertising in the numerous sections available in the Townsville Bulletin.

The Townsville Bulletin was established in 1881, and in 2011 it will be a landmark year with the launch of the new look Townsville Bulletin in January, and celebration of the paper’s 130th birthday.

The Townsville Bulletin is committed to the local community, and will continue to provide news and entertainment to the Townsville and North Queensland region better than any other source.
