The Southern Star circulates to an area around 10-15km south of the Brisbane CBD. The area houses pockets of new suburbs, mixed with established middle-to-upmarket areas. Industrial suburbs in the area include Acacia Ridge, Mansfield, Salisbury and Coopers Plains while commerce and retail are concentrated in Mt. Gravatt, Sunnybank and Runcorn. The area includes Upper Mt Gravatt which is one of the most important business centres outside of the Brisbane CBD and is also home to the well known QE2 Stadium and Griffith University.
