PANORAMIC sea and Hills views complement a family atmosphere and desirable lifestyle at Murray Rd, Port Noarlunga.

A sense of history and yesteryear adorns the road with character buildings but modern offerings are also on the grow.

The median house price in the seaside suburb rose to $380,500 during the 2010 September quarter, up 5.69 per cent on the 2009 September quarter.

LJ Hooker's Michael Anderson says Murray Rd is a desirable address.

"Standing on Murray Rd, you would be taken aback by the panoramic views of the Hills and also the sea views," he says.

"It's a great location and there is a good mix of old and new."

Mr Anderson says Port Noarlunga offers a lifestyle to suit everyone, from young couples to retirees.

"It's centrally located to everything, whether you want to use the local cafes and restaurants, the beautiful sandy beaches or the wineries of McLaren Vale," he says.

Mr Anderson is selling Diahann Logan's two-bedroom character home at 80 Murray Rd. The house is one of the original dwellings in the Port Noarlunga area.

Ms Logan, who has lived in the area for 15 years, says Port Noarlunga is South Australia's best kept secret.

"There are great cafes, really good restaurants and perfect beaches for everything from diving to swimming and surfing," she says.

"With the Southern Expressway, you're only 20 minutes from just about anywhere."

Ms Logan says Murray Rd and Port Noarlunga have a village atmosphere and a great community feel.

"There is a whole variety of homes ranging from modern to 1960s styles," she says.

"Everybody says good morning and waves and the street has a bit of that yesteryear feeling.

"The majority of people living around here would be families. There are some great family homes here and young families are moving into the area and bringing up the next generation."
