LADEN with character bungalows and brimming with charm, Balfour St, Nailsworth, has been labelled one of Adelaide's best-kept secrets.
But homeowners and real estate agents say the lid is about to be lifted on the tightly-held tree-lined street in the relatively small inner north-eastern suburb.
Resident and LJ Hooker Walkerville agent Matthew Gryst says Balfour St is one of the most popular streets in Nailsworth.
"The houses range between 1920s and 1930s built and they're primarily character bungalows," he says.
"It's a very quiet street with a lot of character and you're only a stone's throw from the city. It's one of those best-kept secrets but the suburb is starting to come on people's radars."
Valuer-General figures show that the median house price in Nailsworth jumped to $525,000 during the September quarter, a 14.69 per cent rise from the 2009 September quarter.
