Guardian Express

GUARDIAN EXPRESS is distributed each Tuesday.
The rejuvenation of older suburbs, inner-city living and the café culture characterise Guardian Express area.

The East Perth redevelopment project, new residential/commercial development in Leederville and Northbridge, as well as apartment developments around Mt Lawley, Inglewood, and Highgate are increasing the area’s appeal for affluent baby-boomers seeking to downsize and young professional couples/singles enjoying the lifestyle benefits of living and working in the inner city. Older more established suburbs house families, empty nesters and older singles.

With lone person households (the clear majority pre-retirement age) accounting for 41% of all households it is not surprising that the area has an above average concentration of medium density dwellings and units and that renting is the dominant tenure type.

Almost half of the residential population have lived at their current address for less
than 5 years and a well above average proportion are employed in
professional/managerial occupations.
