Open to entries from each state nationally, the Young Lions competition challenges young professionals at the start of their careers in the media, advertising and marketing communications industry. Young Lions compete in two rounds of the Australian competition with three winning teams in the Print, Digital and Media categories announced in May each year.
The aim of the competition is to identify the hottest upcoming talent to represent Australia against other countries in the worldwide Young Lions Competition held in Cannes at The International Festival of Creativity (formerly International Advertising Festival) in June.
Winning teams will receive return flights to Nice, accommodation and registration to The International Festival of Creativity in Cannes with access to all the seminars, awards ceremonies, showcases and the Young Lions party. Registration also entitles participation in the Young Lions Zone that includes ten master classes and interactive kiosks showcasing winning work from the worldwide Young Lions competitions.
In Cannes the Young Lions are briefed by a client during the Festival, and then create and execute a campaign within 24 hours. The Australian teams compete against the other national representatives from all over the world for the prestigious Gold Medal.
The 58th International Festival of Creativity in Cannes will run from 19-25 June 2011.
