Mandurah Coastal / Pinjarra Murray Times
MANDURAH COASTAL TIMES is distributed each Wednesday to the fast growing City of Mandurah, Shire of Murray (part) and into Singleton, Golden Bay and Secret Harbour in the City of Rockingham.
City of Mandurah is the largest urban centre outside the Perth metropolitan area and the major commercial centre for the Peel region. In the next 10 years the population of City of Mandurah alone is expected to grow to around 90,000 residents while Shire of Murray will increase its population by 46%.
Coastal Times coverage area is home to a mix of household types including couples with no dependent children (younger couples, empty nesters and retirees), families and older singles. A broad occupation profile is in keeping with the diversity of the area.
Separate houses are in the majority and home ownership (own/paying-off) is the dominate tenure type. The growing population, including a significant UK born population has allowed for improved infrastructure in the central Mandurah area including a world-class marina, waterfront restaurants, boutiques and apartment living . A range of new housing opportunities in this growth area are designed to appeal to affluent baby-boomers, growing families and the sizeable retiree population.
In the 12 months to June 2006 City of Mandurah recorded almost ½ billion dollars in residential building approvals (including alterations/additions) Source: HIA WA.
The recent completion of the Perth-Mandurah rail link will significantly improve access and add to the appeal of this vibrant regional centre with its mix of coastal, bushland and ‘inner city’ living.
