“Style is a man’s confident declaration of leadership and identity.” It was these very words, spoken to me by Jim Nelson, the Editor-in- Chief of American GQ, that helped me make sense of the role GQ magazine plays in the modern man’s life. But GQ Australia offers so much more than style advice, aiming to help give our readers a sense of identity and of leading their own lives. It’s a mission statement encapsulated in our editorial promise that you can be a better man if you read GQ, and I believe our commitment to delivering on that promise is the reason for our phenomenal success as Australia’s most read premium men’s lifestyle magazine.
Riding high on our readership growth and our increasing engagement with the digital world, it’s with much excitement I announce the launch of GQStyle magazine, a brand extension to GQ Australia that will be the only high-end fashion magazine catering specifically to the Australian man.
GQStyle will focus on being the authority on men’s fashion and grooming, with a comprehensive overview of the current season’s trends. Published bi-annually in magazine format and online at gq.com.au, it will explore the notion of ‘cool’, and feature Australia’s best writers on style, design, art and culture.
GQStyle will be a magazine for any man with an interest in style, promising something different, unexpected and exquisite each issue. For this audience, if something is not in GQStyle, then it may as well not exist.
