Six looters arrested after Christchurch quake disaster

SIX people have been arrested for looting in central Christchurch following its magnitude 6.3 quake.

Superintendant Dave Cliff said the central city would be a restricted access zone from 6.30pm on Wednesday, meaning only those involved in the rescue effort would be allowed access.

"That's also about keeping out the criminal element, who we know will try and take advantage," he said.

"We have made about six arrests today for theft and burglary around the central city."

Publicly name and post photos of them, Then tag them with monitoring devices then forcibly place them on the units that are having to retrieve the bodies. After that send them straight to jail with no leave pass or excuses. When the rebuilding starts work them from daylight to dusk on details of clean-up and re-building.One could almost condone tattooing them on the forehead with a large "L" = Looter. How sick can some people be? Absolutely NO excuse.
