Mothercare is one of the UK's largest retailers of clothing and products for mothers-to-be, babies and pre-school children. In addition to its 240 stores in the UK, it has over 250 franchises and now operates in 38 countries across Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Following its de-merger from the Storehouse Group in 2000 and its return to operation as an independent company, one of the company's main challenges was to replace its logistics network. Carl Fulleylove, project manager at Mothercare, describes in this video clip how Mothercare went out to tender for a logistics services contract and that both contenders for running the operation recommended Manhattan Associates. He explains that Mothercare selected Manhattan Associates to help it move to a replenishment model in which it could reduce lead times to stores, improve availability and inject efficiency into its supply chain.
