Weather spotting class canceled

A Weather Spotter Training class scheduled for tonight at New Richmond High School has been canceled due to the ice storm expected to hit the area tonight.

National Weather Service meteorologist Mary Jo Parker said the most recent weather model shows that freezing rain may arrive as early as 6 p.m. and advised the Clermont County Emergency Management Agency to cancel the class.

“We want to provide our citizens with a safe training program and will reschedule this Weather Spotter Training class at a later date,” said Clermont County Emergency Management Agency Director Beth Nevel. “With the prediction of freezing rain, we need our citizens to be careful when traveling and be extra cautious of possible icy road conditions.”

Anyone who had signed up for the class, will be called with the new time and date of the rescheduled class.
