Driver blows eight times the limit

POLICE have arrested a man who was caught driving with a blood alcohol level almost eight times the legal limit.

About 7.10pm yesterday a 48-year-old Willunga man was arrested after police saw his vehicle being driven erratically along Richards Rd, Willunga.

He returned a reading of 0.383, almost eight times over the legal limit. He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Then about 2.16am this morning, a 44-year-old man from Noarlunga Downs was stopped on Gulfview Rd, Christies Beach.

He returned a reading of 0.294, almost six times over the legal limit.

He was also issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Both men will appear in court at a later date.

Police said they wanted to remind drivers of the consequences of driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol or drugs.
