This 2007 photo provided by Shell Exploration & Production Company shows the Frontier Discoverer drilling rig as it sits in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Shell Oil announced Wednesday, May 6, 2009, it has withdrawn its plan of exploration for offshore petroleum along the north coast of Alaska for 2007-2009 and will present a pared-down exploration plan to the federal Minerals Management Service in 2010.
