Barberton Manor Guest House ****
Barberton Manor Guest House, built in 1927 after a Sir Herbert Baker design, is a National Heritage and still in its original state, but offers modern day comfort. Dinner by prior arrangement. The spacious bed and breakfast in Mpumalanga, South Africa, is situated close to Swaziland (Mbabane) (40 km), 60 km from the Kruger Park\Kruger National Park and 45 km from Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga Int. Airport). Barberton, a small town nestled in the Makwonja Mountains has a rich history: in the 1880's gold was found at Eureka City, which turned this small settlement into a booming town. It also is a place of geological interest: 3.5 billion years ago, the earliest lifeforms on earth lived in this area. Their fossils can be found in the rocks around Barberton and attract many scientists every year. Our town, being the undiscovered gem of the Lowveld - 'the Wild Frontier' - offers many attractions: hiking trails, scenic drives, visiting a gold mine, the Heritage Walk (starting at the museum) to name a few. ISV 2011 Africa Part 2
Week 3 & 4 -- Adventure Tour!!! Starting in South Africa, we went on day and night game drives in Kruger National Park. Then we went to Blyde River Canyon...baboon alert!!! We went to the Bourkes Luck Potholes, saw a very VERY foggy view of God's Window, had a very high view of Blyde River Canyon, went hiking through the canyon, cliff jumping, and on a river cruise. Then we went to the Magaliesburg Mountains where we went to the Cradle of Mankind museum, experienced the Lesedi Cultural Village, and visited a local elephant sanctuary. We then traveled to Swaziland! We went on a horseback safari ride, had some fun ostrich encounters, and went extreme caving. Next, we traveled to Tofo, Mozambique! We went on an ocean safari and swam with whale sharks!!! We also went surfing and enjoyed the beach life. Then we traveled to Maputo, Mozambique. We got a city tour and enjoyed our last night of the tour together. I do not own the rights to the music used in this video.

SOUTH AFRICA
Johannesburg is the commercial centre of South Africa. Since gold was first discovered there, everything has revolved around money and from the 50th floor of Africa's tallest building, The Carlton Towers, there is an all-engulfing view of the city's narrow streets and jungle of concrete and glass. The African Museum is a contemporary building and one of South Africa's most exquisite landmarks. It contains a large variety of geological exhibits and detailed accounts of the city's past surface mining that gave rise to the country's massive gold rush. The resistance to apartheid is also illustrated, as well as the history of Africa's native inhabitants who journeyed from present day Botswana to the south of the country. In contrast to Johannesburg, Pretoria grew at a calmer pace and has developed from a Boer farming municipality into South Africa's administrative capital. Located on a hill is the Voortrekker Monument that is a reminder of the Boers' Great Trek and, in 1830, the crucial battle in which they defeated the Zulus. Sun City is a magnificent fantasy world full of African ambience. The Sun City Hotel is the casino that made Sol Kerzner the richest man in South Africa. The futuristic Cascades Hotel derived its name from its wonderful setting of waterfalls, pools and lush plant life. The route travels northeast over the misty and one time heavily defended Drankensberg Mountains, in the direction of the Kruger National Park that extends along the border with Mosambique ...
