Dawn Neufeld’s Playbook - Football Wives Finale

footballw_2b1_741

Dawn Neufeld of Football Wives has agreed to blog for us, giving us weekly behind-the-scenes insight and dishing on each of her show’s episodes. Her take on the show’s finale is below

Have vs. Have Not

Football Wives finale Sunday” was a highly anticipated day in the Neufeld household. In addition to the airing of our final episode, we’d been invited by Amanda Davis to sit in her field-level suite at Cowboys stadium to see our home team take on the rival Washington Redskins. The Cowboys took an early lead but the defense faltered and the Redskins tied it up late in the fourth quarter. Our own David Buehler ended up kicking the game-winning field goal. The stadium erupted with excitement – we were so happy for him and Brittany.

Sunday was also a “first” for Ryan – it was his first time attending an NFL game when he wasn’t suited up on the field playing. I’m sure it was a little emotional for him and I bet he imagined himself on that field in front of 100,000 cheering fans making tackles and catching passes. But after standing for a quarter, Ryan had to sit down because his back started aching. We were reminded of the toll the game he’s played and loved for so many years has taken on him physically – he couldn’t play another season if he wanted to. I think knowing you can’t be on the field playing makes it a little easier to sit back and enjoy the show.

royce_e2

We are so excited to announce that Royce Reed will be blogging here at VH1.com throughout the upcoming season of Basketball Wives. From her insider’s perspective, Royce plans to recap her life both onscreen and off. Below, Royce takes on the second episode of Basketball Wives, Season 2…

Perfect Time For A Powwow

Welcome back Gloria… Is it me or was that conversation kinda awkward? As said before, Suzie talks a lot. Not maliciously, in my opinion, BUT half the time the stuff that comes out of her mouth in defense of herself is exactly what shouldn’t be said. Now she’s added Gloria to the mass amount of people who know about Vegas. When you say things like, “I told him about ‘general things,’” and she knows Evelyn is pissed off at your existence, any smart person knows what those “general things” are. It was NONE of Gloria’s business. If Suzie needed someone to talk to fine, but Gloria is not your BFF. Your relationship is through texting and BBM: her words, not mine. OK NEXT.

Myammee Opens Miami Salon

When we interviewed Angela “Myammee” Pitts way back in 2009 regarding her I Love Money 2 victory, she said that with the $250,000 prize money, “I’m thinking about opening up a shop in Miami.” Flash forward to now, and it looks like she’s made good on that plan: the video above comes from the recent grand opening of Myammee’s Hair Spa in North Miami Beach. It is apparently fashioned as both a place to get your hair did and a “retreat from that chaotic mess” (hence it being called a “hair spa,” not a salon). Good luck with that, though: I’ve seen Beauty Shop — I know how wild women can get around hair product.

But for real, this is awesome. Massive amounts of well wishes go out from us to Myammee for achieving her goal and doing something rational and productive with her prize money. Responsibility is so hard to come by in these parts that this is truly remarkable. [via Bourgy]

A Football Husband Blogs Back: Ryan Neufeld On Football Wives

ryan2

Throughout the first season of Football Wives, we’ve been hearing Dawn Neufeld’s take on the series via her Dawn Neufeld’s Playbook blog for us. For an all together new perspective, Dawn’s husband, Ryan has written up a post regarding his take on the show, where he is with his career and how he feels about sharing such sensitive information about his family’s financial situation. It’s a nice look back and primer for the season finale, which will air Sunday at 9:30/8:30. (Watch the drama-heavy finale preview at the Football Wives video page.)

(And speaking of husbands, were you aware that Erin’s man, Matt McBriar is leading the NFL in punting? The more you know!)

Ryan’s thoughts are below…

I’ve been keeping up with Dawn’s blog and have really enjoyed how well she’s been explaining the way certain situations took place on Football Wives.  I can’t help but notice some of the negative feedback she’s been getting from the blog.  In particular, there have been several comments that Dawn embarrassed me by being so open about our financial situation.  I can tell everyone that my wife did nothing to embarrass me on the show.  I appreciate her being so real.  People have talked about her on the stripper pole on the boat.  I was there and didn’t have a problem with it.  I enjoyed watching the ladies relax and have a good time.  They deserved it after all the stress and work in shooting the show.

The Celebreality Interview: Rachel Uchitel On Rehab

rachel_interview

Some stars are born, some are made and some get to be stars through little doing of their own. The latter scenario is the case for Rachel Uchitel, who started making headlines around this time last year for her close relationship with a certain sports megastar. The coverage continued throughout 2010, but then a funny thing happened: Rachel Uchitel reclaimed her notoriety. She signed on to appear on the fourth season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, in a confluence of reluctance (of being categorized as a celebrity and an addict) and resolve to present herself to the public on her terms. As she tells me below, “I was not OK with sitting back and letting people see the media’s version of me. I wanted to show me, and if people wanted to hate me, it was totally fair game.”

In our 30-minute chat, we also discussed her family turning its back on her for appearing on this show, being uninvited from Celebrity Apprentice by Donald Trump, her love addiction, negotiating the treatment aspect of Rehab with the TV aspect, and why she stands by her calling out of Dr. Drew on this week’s episode. I hope that you find her as engaging and articulate as I did.

The X Life - A Visual Preview

xlife_gagnon_3

Below is the tiniest of a tiny indication of what to expect from VH1’s forthcoming series The X Life (premiering Monday, January 10 at 10/9c): a gallery of the three couples the show will profile (Vert Skater Pierre Luc Gagnon and his girlfriend Denise Russo; BMX Dirt Jumper Cory “Nasty” Nastazio and his girlfriend Nicole Panattoni; and FMX’s Jeremy “Twitch” Stenburg and his wife Susie Stenberg. It turns out that people in extreme sports, as well as their significant others, are attractive! Especially those who end up on reality TV! Who knew?
