Genocide in Context: War in Central Africa

December 11th, 2010  |  Published in Africa, US Imperialism

Professor Peter Erlinder, Lead Defense Counsel for the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and now officially an enemy of the Rwandan state, provides extensive context for the period known as the Rwandan Genocide. Erlinder, who accumulated and publicly leaked, masses of documents from UN, Rwandan and US embassy sources, helps the viewer gain a new perspective on Central African history and… US foreign policy. The presentation occurs the day after Paul Rusesabagina, protagonist in the film Hotel Rwanda, joined Erlinder on Rwanda’s “Wanted” list. (10/28/10, William Mitchell College of Law)
