Cars and the road are covered by the heavy snow, in Gateshead, north eastern England, Monday, Nov. 29, 2010. Britain has shivered in sub-zero temperatures since Thursday as snow fell unseasonably early, with more wintry weather on the way. Up to 10cm (4 inches) of snow settled in northern Scotland and north-east England overnight, the earliest major snowfall in 17 years.
