Ian Henschke to host 891 morning show

ABC TV journalist Ian Henschke has joined 891 ABC Adelaide's new-look morning program.

The Adelaide-born journalist started his career with the ABC 27 years ago and has worked on programs including the 7.30 Report, 4 Corners, Countrywide and Landline.

Henschke will be the new host of the 891 mornings program and will be heard from 9am.

He will follow Matt and Dave's breakfast show, from 6am to 9am.

"I am thrilled that I can bring together my passion for South Australia with my absolute love of broadcasting," he said.

"I began my broadcasting career in 1983. I'm looking forward to joining the highly successful 891 team in 2011 and being part of the biggest conversation in town."

Good move ABC. Ian will be good, he's a seasoned pro who is not afraid to ask hard questions. Matt and Dave have been great over the years but their format and delivery has faded, with too much aggro being delivered. They also appear a little tired of the public's expectations to continually kick heads. The timing is just right for a move to a different time slot, it will refresh the ABC lineup. I'll be tuning in to both time slots with interest.
