Blogs about: Facebook

If you don’t use Facebook (and there are fewer and fewer of you every day), you can’t understand: It’s addicting. Especially if your friends, family and co-workers live all over the planet — Facebook brings them together in one neat and tidy place.  Meaning, you’re never far away from almost everyone you know. That’s both good and bad, of course. And like all social networks, one has to wonder: Will it jump the shark? Is it the next Friendster? Or here to stay? As Spanish speakers say, vamos a ver.

Facebook Unfriend Day
The Mad Hatters

Today, November 17, is International Unfriend Day – a day for all Facebook users to ‘prune’ their ‘friends’ Sharpen those knives or scissors and start slashing and snipping. Not sure who to cull from the list? Start with you parents – do you really want them knowing so much about what you and your friends are up to? Of course not. They should be 1st for the chop. Defriend them. Now !!! ‘ex’ partners? Get rid of them too ! Right. That’s a good start. Who’s next for the chop? Click here for some more suggestions – http://tinyurl.com/27wn7ca

The Only Time I Love It When Lovers Fight...
The Yellow Pedestrian

…is when they do it on Facebook.   Don’t you? When people post their mess and it ends up on my feed, it isn’t really my fault is it? I’m sure you guys have done it too.  It usually starts with one intriguing status.  Then, BAM!  In a matter of minutes, you’ve already gone through both parties’ walls.  You are now able to pinpoint when the fighting started down to the minute.  You watch as the statuses go juicier as they progress with the drama and the comments turn nastier as you scroll up to the present. Cringe worthy, entertaining, and educational, lovers’ quarrels have never been this accessible!  It’s a fascinating way to look into peoples’ lives without guilt because at the end of the day, I will willingly read what you willingly posted. Please don’t stop on account of me.  Cheers to your bravery! LOL.

Sharing Is Caring-The Information Highway For Down syndrome
Northwest Florida Family's of Down syndrome

I have to first apologize for not blogging in a while. Life has kept me very busy and very exhausted.  I felt the need to write a quick entry on something that really struck me hard tonight. One of the things that I had when my son was younger was information. Through the various organizations that we were affiliated with at the time, I was always up to date on anything related to special needs, disabilities, and Down syndrome. As Christopher got older and and we were forced to part our ways with these organizations I found it harder and harder to find information, programs, resources. That is when I really became active online. I found myself researching and learning; Reading and printing, building my resources. I began to depend on the school system to share knowledge. I began to depend on local support organizations to share knowledge. I have attended resource fairs, and events. I today this day do what I can to find out what support is available for my son, my family. What resource

Look no further for the latest in Entertainment Law news: the Weekly PULSE! Erin Brokovich may head back to Hinkley for another lawsuit. Emma Watson once considered becoming She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named by quitting Harry Potter. Weezy was a no-show at the Wynn, but it turns out it was not by choice. An interesting (interested?) voice speaks up on the issue of drug legalization. Together again - Britney Spears’ parents reunite after an eight-year split. Apple has finally reached an agreement to sell the Beatles on iTunes. Don’t let me down, Steve Jobs. Gerard Butler (former lawyer) sues his ‘evil twin’ for trademark infringement. Comedy Central is being sued over South Park’s alleged copyright infringement of the well-known “What What (In The Butt)” music video. Great…not even Supreme Court Justice Breyer understands Facebook. Prince William is engaged to his longtime girlfriend. Should he get a prenup? Tell us what you think! We’d love

Messages of all kinds –UNITE!
Measuring Media

I had a tough decision this week when it came to my blog. Do I write about The Beatles finally becoming available on iTunes or the big Facebook announcement? While I think The Beatles coming to iTunes is worthy of its own blog, Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement intrigued me more. Earlier this week, the Facebook founder claimed that the company would be gradually rolling out a “social inbox”. The inbox will house all kinds of communication from all different platforms. There will be a single inbox for e-mails (with your new Facebook.com e-mail address), SMS, Facebook chat messages, instant messages, etc. What is the purpose of this sort of convergence? Does this take communication too far? In this day and age, convergence is key. Last week we read “Convergence Culture” which really hit home for me having recently started a convergence multimedia news site, Hands on Dallas. I believe that if you can go to one specific place and access multiple types of messages you can spend less time on th

Series 4 of 7: Location, Location, Location
Designer's Basement Magazine

Image via Wikipedia I know we’ve all heard this a thousand times, but it’s true. Most successful businesses has a grreat location. Selecting the right location involves basic considerations such as proximity to customers, ease of access, and leasing and zoning restrictions. Financial incentives and tax credits offered by your local government may also influence your decision. These resources will help you understand some basic legal and regulatory issues you’ll encounter when selecting a business location, as well as practical advice for choosing right business location. Location is about more than just choosing a building. Perhaps for you, opening your business in your own town, or even your part of town, is a given. But consider the big picture: State – Income taxes and sales taxes vary greatly from state to state, as do regulatory requirements. Is the state you live in friendly to entrepreneurship? To the specific type of business you want to run? Now might b
