with special guests...MAKE and MINOR STARS with live projections / visuals by Projexorcism during Monsonia's Set.
doors at 9 PM : $5 Buy Tickets online!
This show is a vinyl-release party for local minimal-rock trio Monsonia, who like their pizza crusts thick and their riffs even thicker. The one song up on the 'net from 33.3 continues Growler-style dark chord-churning with a distinct post-punk poker-faced intensity and some badass counter-rhythms from drummer Andy Willard-- each part is so pronounced you'll have to listen to this record four times to hear it all. Local space-doomers Make and heavy-psych rockers Minor Stars start off the night. To top it off, the foothills-based 16mm projection behemoth Projexorcism will be in full effect for Monsonia's set, sharing the world of tripped-out educational films on multiple screens, wherever they may be. The aim of the presentation will be to identify and discuss key issues and questions, focusing on tensions and divergences that require collective thinking.
