After weeks of bouncing between several of Hollywood’s hottest actresses Cameron Crowe has finally nailed down the female lead for his upcoming film We Bought a Zoo. According to Deadline, Scarlett Johansson has beat out Amy Adams, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rachel McAdams to land the part.
“Too soon” – a phrase arguably pinned to Tina Fey for her infamous Palin impressions, to Quentin Tarantino for re-writing Hitler’s demise, the list goes on. The question is, how exactly does one constitute what’s “too soon” for satire? First time writer/director Chris Morris, with fierce audacity, mocks terrorism in his upcoming film Four Lions, centered around five wannabe jihadis.

If you’re a fan of Lee Kirk and his previous work, which includes 2004’s The Women you’re in luck because he’s got a new project on the horizon called The Giant Mechanical Man. The title might sound a little crazy but it’s a comedy so its OK. The last time we saw Miley Cyrus on the big screen it was for the Nicholas Sparks sap-fest The Last Song. The film co-starred Liam Hemsworth and centered on love, death and more love. Her newest film entitled LOL, is the exact opposite and is actually a comedy that features the singer/actress working alongside Demi Moore, who plays her mother. Over at Collider, they’ve posted the first photo of the teen from the film.
The final step in bringing The Toxic Avenger back to the big screen is almost complete. According to Deadline, a director has been hired to helm the film, which is being produced by Akiva Goldsman, Richard Saperstein and Charlie Corwin. Steve Pink will take on the gig and hopefully bring the cult character back to his former, campy glory.

Therefore, when Sony announced plans for a reboot of the Marvel film everyone wanted to know who was going to play those roles. We got our Peter Parker in the form of British actor Andrew Garfield, but Mary Jane is nowhere to be found, and according to a report from The Wrap, it’s going to stay that way.

Uncle Boonmee is more immediately accessible than much else of his work (though it certainly contains its share of mysteries) and in some ways that is what makes this his most successful experiment yet.
