Get Involved

At KBOO we have a dynamic community of 500 volunteers doing everything from front desk work, janitorial work, community reporting, hosting information booths, clerical support, news writing, documentary making, engineering live music, operating sound boards, engineering and computer help, website upkeep, and many, many other things.

KBOO absolutely depends on volunteers to carry out the work of the station.

Volunteering at KBOO can take many, many paths.  We have volunteers who come in to do things a few times each year, and other volunteers who spend 20+ hours each week at the station.  Our volunteers range in age from nine years old to more than 80. We strive to be inclusive, and  have a thriving multi-cultural community working  together to  create fabulous radio.

For further information about volunteering at KBOO please contact Ani at 503-231-8032 ext. 213, or email her at volunteer[at]kboo[dot]org.

What do volunteers do at KBOO?

Volunteers at KBOO are active throughout the station, both on and off of the air. Nearly every show on KBOO is produced, recorded, engineered, and broadcast by volunteers.

In addition to producing for radio, many opportunities exist for help in various departments ranging from helping with phones, mailing the program guide or helping at special events, like KBOO's Annual Book & Record Sale, and our on-air membership drives.  For a more complete list of current needs, check out the Volunteer Opportunities page: www.kboo.fm/volunteer

If you are a volunteer and want to be sure that you are keeping in touch with all of the station news and opportunities, contact Ani, and ask to be added to the volunteer email list serve.

Call 503-231-8032 ext. 213 to sign up, or email Ani Haines, Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteer@kboo.org
