Just a list of artists and bands I have seen playing live, in no particular order.
I am getting to the age where I sometimes forget what I have done, so maybe its time to write some of this down while I remember – then I can check back when I really start losing my marbles! The list is not exhaustive – I have forgotten a lot of the support band names I have seen, and missed off the really obscure support bands or people I saw at festivals but never heard of before or since.
- Yes
Wembley Arena, 1977 or 1978. The first concert I ever went to. - The Tubes (x2)
This would have been the first concert I ever went to, but Fee Waybill broke his leg and the rest of the tour was cancelled. By the time they toured again I had seen Yes. Saw them again in about 2001 at the Shepherds Bush Empire but without all the stage show and theatrics. - Squeeze (x2)

I just wish I could remember the name of the band who supported Les Negresses Vertes at Shepherds Bush. They were a duo from Marseilles who both played electric tambourines and that is not something you see every day.

You took me to see Spizz at the Marquee (can’t think when) and Chas & Dave at the Towngate (probably about 1980/1). Mary went with you to see Pink Floyd at Earls Court and Toyah – I think, overall, she got the better deal.

Spizz at the Marquee?? I can’t remember that… I can remember seeing him there midweek once when we got in free because we turned up early. Were you with us then?
I have sort of lost count of the number of times I’ve seen Spizzenergi…
Don’t dis Chas & Dave though – they are now rehabilitated as roots/folk icons aren’t they?
janeskuds // Aug 17, 2008 at 11:35 am
I didn’t dis C & D (although I thought they were Spurs fans…..) I don’t think it was a midweek freebie with Spizz, I think it was just you and me going. I recall you said that the Marquee had just been refurbished and I wondered how they managed to find so much black paint and special sticky stuff to put on the floor!
Paul Adams // Dec 14, 2009 at 11:19 am
…that’s not THE Andrew Skudder, is it?!
Skuds // Dec 14, 2009 at 9:32 pm
I hope so. Wouldn’t like to think there is another one. Is that THE Paul Adams from ‘the Daddies’?
