The Legal Branch provides advice, assistance, and legal representation to CUPE locals, members and staff. We represent local unions and members at arbitration, labour board and court hearings.
Recent issues the branch has tackled include:
- protecting collective bargaining rights and collective agreements in bankruptcy
situations - mandatory retirement
- duty to accommodate and the rights of workers with disabilities.
