Ermenegildo Zegna

Ermenegildo Zegna Group is a leading multinational in men’s luxury clothing and one of the oldest business families in Italy: it is currently managed by the fourth generation. The Zegna wool mill (Lanificio) was started up in Trivero in 1910. Ermenegildo Zegna’s objective was to produce high quality fibers for men’s clothing by selecting the best raw materials from the wool growing countries. The Company soon started to expand outside Italy. In the ‘60s and ‘70s it developed leisure wear collections and a made to measure service. And by the end of the ‘90s it had launched a strategy based on verticalization, diversification and brand extension. Zegna Group is thus able to guarantee the entire textile/clothing production process: from the working of raw materials to the design and manufacture of fabrics through to production of men’s clothing collections, formal and informal, and accessories. And directly managed distribution worldwide, through 555 single-brand stores, of which 311 owned by the Company. Diversification also involved a number of important acquisitions. One of the objectives of the fourth generation of Zegnas is to ensure continuity for the values and policies that have grown out of the philosophy of the Group’s founder, out of his conviction that the quality of products can only stem from a “culture of beauty” that also cares for the environment and the community.
