Like OCAP, our provincial counterpart, the Kingston Coalition Against Poverty is a direct-action anti-poverty organization based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. KCAP mounts campaigns against regressive government policies as they affect poor and working people. In addition, we provide direct-action advocacy for individuals against eviction, termination of welfare benefits, and offer support to those being abused by agencies such as the CAS. We believe in the power of people to organize themselves. If you are mad as hell and unwilling to take it anymore then KCAP can help you to fight to win!
If you really want to fight to win, you will need effective weapons. On our Resources page, we will offer everything from manuals on organizing effective direct action campaigns to valuable tips for maximizing those meagre benefits being brutally hoarded by the state.
If you know of a resource that we have not included, PLEASE E-MAIL US at: kcap@tao.ca and we will include it. We strongly believe in the collective power of resistance.
Subscribe to the KCAP mailing list here. Our mailing list is where you will find special event 'call outs', announcements of interest to our members and of course a forum in which you are welcome to express your opinions on the events of the day. The list is carefully moderated and we will not tolerate spam, 'tofu' or abusive behaviour.
KCAP is proud to be a member of the Ontario Common Front. We share resources and lend support in solidarity when collective action is requested. Here are a few:
