About The Hook

We're staring down the barrel at one scary week here, people.

First the mystery of the missing 2009 Fraser River sockeye. Sure, this year our freezers runneth over and we're all getting ready to give out sockeye treats instead of Mars bars for Halloween. But a year ago those freezers were empty and we thought the Fraser River sockeye fishery was going the way of the Atlantic cod.

What gives chills is that we still don't really know where they went or why they came back in such numbers. With any luck, the Cohen Commission, which starts this week, will find some answers. Stay tuned to The Hook for regular reports.

And then there's the ongoing saga of our fledgling premier. He's done shaking up his cabinet and wants to talk at you (through your TV) Wednesday night. No doubt there will be some treats thrown into your bag of candy but your trusty Hook reporters will watch for any dastardly tricks.

Come back all week and watch as our murder of reporters attack these and other stories like a flock of Hitchcock-ian birds. All this and more cheesy Halloween metaphors!
