FreeSchool learning groups are starting the week of JANUARY 22ND!!!

Please join us for the first session of learning groups at The FreeSchool.

The FreeSchool, an alternative education project in Vancouver, Canada, is a collective-run project whose purpose is to provide the community with a space for dialogue and learning outside of the mainstream education and economic systems. Volunteers from the community have come together to organize and facilitate a small selection of learning groups at no charge to their fellow community members. We all have knowledge and skills to share with one another, the FreeSchool is an opportunity to do so in a non-hierarchical, anti-oppressive and holistic education environment where not only the academic is addressed, but also the social, political, creative and personal.

The FreeSchool winter session runs from January 22nd to March 2nd. The learning groups offered this session are:

  • Voluntary Simplicity
  • Beyond Sensory Perception
  • Graffiti History and Guerilla Public Art
  • Readings and Discussions on Sexuality

You may pre-register for a workshop or learning group by emailing your name, contact information and the name of the group to thefreeschool@gmail.com. Finalization of your participation happens when you show up for your first day of learning. We stress the importance of smaller learning groups that function as self-determining collectives of equals, therefore we must limit the amount of participants in each group. So please register now to save your spot! Remember, there is no tuition for learning groups, although there may be a minimal cost for materials (e.g., photocopies for readings).
