Jonanna Widner (“Top of the Pops”) is the former music editor for the Santa Fe Reporter and the Dallas Observer. Currently a freelance writer in Portland, Oregon, she is the author of the Moon Guide to Dallas-Fort Worth and a frequent contributor to Bitch. Her entire life is a dual quest for the perfect hair product and an album as good as Doolittle.
Sara Reihani (“Big Game,” Screen reviews) is a former editorial intern at Bitch Media. She comes from California and now lives in Austin, Texas. Her writing has appeared here and there on the Internet, but most regularly on the Bitch blog, where she writes about music, culture, and douchebags. She also makes a zine called International Superstar. She likes YouTube, pop punk, and dolphins.
Brittany Shoot (“Steering the Craft”) is a freelance writer, editor, and critic currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She earned concurrent bachelor’s degrees in communication, women’s studies, and psychology and has a master’s degree in visual and media arts from Emerson College. An editor for the Feminist Review blog and a writer for Change.org, she has also written for make/shift, RH Reality Check, truthout.org, the New York Times, and ZNet, and contributed to several forthcoming encyclopedias on subjects ranging from veganism to graffiti to infanticide. Jing Wei (illustrations) is an illustrator who was born in China and spent her formative years in California’s Bay Area before moving to New York. Her prints have been seen in galleries and publications across the country, including American Way, 5280, McSweeney’s, NPR.com, Giant Robot, Boston Magazine and PlanSponsor. In her spare time, she teaches Mandarin and art to toddlers. Currently, she can be found in her Brooklyn apartment, working on a children’s book and trying to perfect the chocolate-chip cookie.
Sarah Jaffe (“Tea Stained”) is a blogger, an independent political journalist, a feminist pop culture critic, and a self-proclaimed nerd girl. Currently, she works as the web director/senior writer for GRITtv with Laura Flanders, and she is deputy editor at GlobalComment.com. Her work has appeared in The Nation, The American Prospect, Bust, and Billboard, She graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 2002 and received a master’s degree in journalism from Temple University in 2009. She lives in Brooklyn with her rescue dog and entirely too many books, and can be found on Twitter at @seasonothebitch.
