The IHR is participating in two matched funding schemes – the Government’s HEFCE Challenge and the Mellon Challenge Grant, a US$1 million grant from the Andrew W Mellon Foundation. Both schemes match donations 2:1, and the Mellon grant specifically helps us to build our endowment.

Among the highlights of this upcoming IHR conference will be appearances by directors John Boorman and Kevin Brownlow, as well as rare newsreel, combat, amateur and Ministry of Information footage. There will also be an exclusive afternoon screening and roundtable chaired by Annette Kuhn, and a day of talks devoted to the war on screen, with speakers including James Chapman, Mark Glancy and Sue Harper.
