Welcome to SciTalk

SciTalk is the Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts’ online resource dedicated to connecting writers with scientists and scientists with writers.

SciTalk occupies and explores the intersection between science and art (known as Sci-art).The relatively new and innovative Sci-art approach is at the core of all SciTalk activities, which take the form of public events, online initiatives, academic and/or creative gatherings, publications, and much more.

The long-term ambition is for SciTalk to become a collaborative hub that will produce interesting outputs in many different forms. And to do this contributors are needed. Scientists from any discipline and writers working in any form/genre are welcome to use the site.

Connect Scientists and Writers

Thanks to the creative vision and hard work of the site originators there are already hundreds of scientists registered on SciTalk. The plan now is to continue to develop the site by both retaining existing registered contributors and encouraging new visitors to the site to register as scientific or literary contributors.

You may want to explore the website, take a look at some of the contributor pages and read what leading scientists and writers say about SciTalk before adding to the wealth of talent. Existing science contributors can take the opportunity to update their entry. Writers can search for a particular scientific expertise and contact scientists to begin a dialogue.

Contributors decide their own level of involvement and in the first instance you can simply send an expression of interest. Or if you feel ready to help SciTalk continue to flourish by becoming an active contributor, simply follow the relevant link below:
