Amnesty International Canada - Employment Opportunities

Working for Amnesty Canada

Amnesty has a small staff and does not often have job opportunities. When these are available they are posted on this website. Applicants should read the job posting carefully for instructions specific to that posting.

Amnesty Canada does not keep resumes sent on speculation.

Persons interested in working for Amnesty Canada or applying for the internships are encouraged to check this page regularly.

Please check out our volunteering and activism opportunities page for more listings.

STAFF POSITIONS

2011 Amnesty International Canada Youth Internship Opportunity

Applications for the Amnesty International Youth Internship Program are now being accepted. All applications are due by December 14th 2010 at 4:00 Eastern Standard Time.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Amnesty Canada is offering the opportunity for two individuals to participate in an internship program from May 2nd - August 13th 2011. Interns will be provided with an orientation to Amnesty's work, a workplan for their time with Amnesty, and a staff mentor. The work of the intern will be directly related to the current activities of AI Canada.

The specific workplans will be developed with the individuals who are accepted into the program taking into account the skills, learning goals and experience of the applicant, and the needs of the organization. It is likely that the work of the intern will involve both administrative tasks and the opportunity to carry to completion specific projects which might involve research or writing. Potential projects might include support to our campaigning work, writing and developing content for the web-site, membership development or supporting event planning and public awareness activities.

Details about Amnesty's work can be found at www.amnesty.ca

Download the Internship Application Form. Applications will only be considered if they include all of the requested information.

This is a paid position. Each internship position will receive an honorarium of $6,000.00.
