Singles Going Steady! From October 17th - 24th, WFMU throws technology into the circular file and celebrates the little records with the big holes, in anticipation of our annual Record Fair, which takes place Oct 22-24 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. For one full week, our DJs will play nothing but seven inch records, many of which will rotate at the recommended 45 revolutions per minute. Thrones on Talk's Cheap with Jason Sigal Thursday October 21st from 9-Noon!You might recognize Joe Preston from Earth, Sunn 0))), Melvins, High On Fire, Men's Recovery Project, Harvey Milk, Thor, Snakepit, and many other great bands. But if you're not already familiar with his one-man experimental sludge/doom project Thrones, then it is time to join the cult! Since 1994, Thrones has released a steady stream of recordings on labels like Kill Rock Stars, Punk in my Vitamins, Vermiform, 5rc and Southern Lord. Most recently, Thrones released a DVD & LP collaboration with Daniel Menche titled "Cerberic Doxology".

Diane's Kamikaze Fun Machine welcomes Stranglers founder/frontman Hugh Cornwell on Tuesday, October 26th from 12-3pm! He's currently touring with his all star band featuring Clem Burke (Blondie, Romantics) and Steve Fishman (Contortions) and will stop by for a few numbers and in-studio chat! His latest release is a double CD called: New Songs for King Kong and you can catch his shows at the Record Collector in Bordentown NJ on Oct 22, The Brighton in Long Branch on Oct 23rd, or right after the WFMU special, at the Mercury Lounge on October 26th (early show!).
