Vote Yes on Measure 74
Oregon voters approved the medical use of marijuana in 1998. Now, for the first time, Measure 74 would create a regulated supply system for medical marijuana.
Vote YES on Measure 74 to provide:
- Safe access for patients: Qualified patients could safely obtain medical marijuana from regulated, nonprofit clinics, if their doctor recommends it.
- Strict regulation: Suppliers of medical marijuana would be subject to a range of new regulations, including background checks, inspections, record-keeping, auditing, zoning, security requirements and quality control.
- State revenues: Official estimates say Measure 74 will generate $3 million-$20 million per year from taxes and fees paid by participants in the system. It won’t require any taxpayer support, and actually provides extra funding to be used for research and assistance to low-income patients.
This new system will bring accountability and order to how qualified patients obtain medical marijuana.
Measure 74 is supported by doctors, nurses and patient groups all across Oregon. The Citizens’ Initiative Review panel endorsed the Measure 74, and voter pamphlet arguments in favor of Measure 74 have been filed by a former police chief, a former federal prosecutor, and a retired Oregon Supreme Court justice, among many others.
Please join them all in voting YES on Measure 74!
