'Only for love' is the debut single by former Kajagoogoo singer Limahl, who was fired from the group by his bandmates in 1983. The song was later included on Limahl's 1984 debut solo album, 'Don't suppose'. The song became his first solo hit, peaking at number 16 in the UK singles chart.
It also played a part in the singer meeting producer Giorgio Moroder, while he was performing the song at a rock festival in Tokyo the following year. Moroder would help Limahl reach greater international success later in his career.

'Neverending story' was composed by Giorgio and Keith Forsey for the German movie of the same name. Limahl, formerly from the popular band Kajagoogoo, was asked to sing the song. In the end, it didn't feature in the movie at all, but it did appear on the soundtrack album. As a reference to the film and its title, the song has no distinctive beginning, nor an end. While many songs fade out, this track not only fades out, but also fades in, thus making it 'never ending'.
The single peaked at number 4 in the UK singles chart and number 34 in the Dutch Top 40.

After Limahl left the band Kajagoogoo, he embarked on a solo career. His first solo single was 'Only for love', a hit in the UK, USA and Germany. The second single, released in early 1984, was 'Too much trouble'. This single reached number 26 in Germany and number 64 in the UK singles chart.
Both singles were included on Limahl's debut solo album, 'Don't suppose', released in 1984.

Limahl got rid of his extravagant haircut and started making 'serious' music in 1986. His album 'Colour all my days' was mostly produced by Giorgio Moroder. The first single, 'Love in your eyes' was a minor hit for the ex-Kajagoogoo singer.
Around this time, a UK tabloid published a photograph of Limahl leaving an unemployment office, with the caption, 'how the once mighty can fall'. But while only reaching number 80 in the UK Singles chart, 'Love in your eyes' fared much better in the rest of Europe, particularly in Germany, where the single reached number 28 and Italy, where the single peaked at number 22.
