Latin American migrant workers brutally massacred in Mexico
On August 24, 2010, the bodies of 72 migrants from Central and South America were found in San Fernando, Mexico, approximately 100 km south of the U.S. border. The migrant workers included 58 men and 14 women. All of them had been shot dead and piled in a room.

Leading the way on Labour Day
UFCW Canada activists came out in full force on September 6 to join working families at Labour Day parades, picnics and other community events. At one of Canada’s largest and most time-honoured Labour Day festivities – the Toronto Labour Day Parade – several UFCW Canada local unions combined their presence to create one of the biggest groups in the celebration.

TORONTO - Four days of talks between UFCW Canada and Loblaw Companies Ltd. wound up today with some progress on key issues but no settlement in the prolonged negotiations that have been underway since April.
