Les Black Carnations - Beat The Attitude

Nice EP from Germany’s Les Black Carnations released in 1985 on the Pastell label. Contains a cool cover of the Country Joe & The Fish classic Who Am I? plus five originals. A nice mix of surfy guitars and great femme vocals give the band a distinct sound on tracks like Voices Scream and Murmur, What Time Did You Say It Was In New York City? There is some nice organ added on Black Carnations echoing the sixties sound while Echo Flower Blues is a nice surf instro workout.

The Stowaways - ...In Our Time

Another Justice rarity from the Stowaways, supposedly one of the rarer releases on the label. I would rate ...In Our Time as one of the better on the label that I have heard, still no Tempos but certainly more engaging and palatable than the Invaders album. Give it a spin and judge for yourself.

The Invaders - On The Right Track

One of the lesser albums on the Justice label, these guys hailed from Charlottesville, Virginia. This is your typical Justice formula of mostly covers with an original or two thrown in for good measure. In this case it was certainly good measure because the opener Have You Ever is the best thing about this record, a nice Farfisa fueled tune with a cool fuzzy break. There is one other original Just For Kicks but it doesn’t even come close to  Have You Ever. The covers rely too heavily on the dreadful use of horns. On The Right Track... I don’t think so.

Country Bob & The Bloodfarmers - Goin' To Hell In A Hatbasket (1985)

Nothing like a little demented country/punk to get your Saturday morning off to a good start. Goin' To Hell In A Hatbasket was released way back in 1985 on the Manster label. The band called Allen Park, Michigan home. I could only find one other release, from 2006 “I Cut Out Her Heart (And Stomped On It).”
