We've posted some of the madcap artwork from a few of the records released by Snoop's daddy! Truly, erm ... idiosyncratic stuff, indeed!!
However, inside the ludicrous covers can be found some rather good music. Songs like "In My Resume."
Swamp Dogg, aka Jerry Williams, is one of the more original and "out there" voices of soul/R'n'B and, contrary to expectations derived from said covers, a really good one.
He was also a top notch producer responsible for Doris Duke's "I'm A Loser" - one of the deepest soul records.
This song should have put him up with some of the great songwriters/producers.
Yap, it's living legend Swamp Dogg, a true original in a world of bland uniformity and "In My Resume." I believe this was recorded at Hi studios in Memphis in the early '70s.
Commenter vinylrecordcutting really seems to like the song, calling it "the best track that has ever been made"!! Erm .... it may not be that, but it is actually surprisingly good.
We really need our daily dose of Joe ... but ain't got no dough! If you like our stuff, you can click above and get us one! Gracias amigos!!
