Fourth FFOL Printing Hits the Streets

We’re pleased to announce the fourth printing of our flagship piece of propaganda, Fighting For Our Lives. We had 100,000 copies printed this time—bringing the total now in print to 600,000—and implemented a few minor improvements to the text and design. Additionally, we switched printers for this new printing, and the results are, by our estimation, a significant upgrade from those previous. You can place bulk requests as well as peruse PDFs of the new edition on our FFOL page.

New Unconventional Action Paper

An Unconventional Action chapter has just published a new free paper, False Hope vs. Real Change, detailing the pitfalls of electoral politics and exploring alternatives grounded in direct action and community self-determination. We’ve made the PDF available:

Comprehensive DNC/RNC Analysis

At the invitation of Team Colors, who are coordinating the publication In the Middle of a Whirlwind: 2008 Convention Protests, Movement and Movements, we present a full analysis of the strategic opportunities and challenges presented by the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions. We hope this will contribute to ongoing discussions about whether and how anarchists should participate in them.

For internet casualties who don’t have the attention span to read an actual text, here are the basic points:

Convergence Promo Materials Now Available

We’ve repurposed some of our favorite May Day propaganda to spread the word of the upcoming CrimethInc. Convergence (July 16-20, near Milwaukee, WI). Please, download the new materials and spread them widely—bring them to anarchist social centers and infoshops, on your music and speaking tours: invite everyone!

The convergence will be several days of self-organized workshops, presentations, performances, and other activities where everyone can be a presenter—so bring your own ideas, not to mention camping gear and whatever resources you can share. This year there will be a focus on coordinating for the demonstrations at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, as well as longer-range anarchist endeavors. Internationals will share experiences from overseas. Participation is free, of course, along with literature, food, child care, and camping space; the convergence will be a sober, consent-based space.

Locals on the ground in Milwaukee, putting in work for this summer’s CrimethInc. Convergence, have announced a public redirect location at Gordon Park (Locust St. & Humboldt Blvd) in Milwaukee, WI.

Anarchy? Ha!

With a few exceptions, anarchists are not known for comedy. This is unfortunate; the vicissitudes of late capitalism are nothing if not farcical, and nothing is more persuasive than humor—to laugh at a joke is to acknowledge its premises.

While we have yet to unearth the great anarchist comic of our generation, we have discovered a ’zine that satirizes the North American anarchist subculture to great effect. Allow us to introduce the Super Happy Anarcho Fun Pages, the 12th issue of which has just been released. All twelve issues are freely available online, courtesy of www.tangledwilderness.org.
