Denard Robinson Continues Heisman Campaign By Stuffing Stat Sheet Against Indiana

Denard Robinson, at this point, seems less like a mass of molecules and more like a terror from a video game. How else to explain him making box scores look like Warren Buffett bank accounts all year?

Robinson gutted Indiana today, throwing for 277 yards and rushing for 217 more. It's his second day of over 490 yards of total offense this season; it also featured his second game-winning touchdown run in the final minute. For the year, Robinson has thrown for 1,008 yards and run for another 905. That's 1,913 yards of total offense, or more than all but 11 FBS teams had entering this week. It's insane. It's fantastic. It's a product of Michigan's defense being put together with twine and Elmer's and requiring weekly bailouts the stuff Heisman campaigns are made of.

VIDEO: A.J. Green Returns To Field, Resumes Making Absurd One-Handed Catches

Hey, guys! A.J. Green is back on the field for Georgia after a four-game suspension for selling a game-worn jersey! I wonder, will he still be good at football?

Verdict: A.J. Green remains in possession of unearthly talents that come in handy when on a football field, and occasionally flashes them on leaping one-handed catches. He is still very good at football.

MLB Playoff Picture: Sunday's Post-Season Possibilities

Now it's getting really interesting, folks. The Padres completed their second consecutive win in San Francisco, while the Braves just finished losing again at home to the Phillies. With one day left in the regular season, the Giants have 91 wins, while the Braves and Padres are tied on 90. Sunday sees San Diego try to snatch one more victory in San Francisco, and Atlanta seeks to avoid the sweep against Philadelphia.

After the jump, we'll take a look at the four possible outcomes from tomorrow's games.

VIDEO: The Miracle Finish To LSU-Tennessee, Or Les Miles And Derek Dooley Failing Coaching 101

There is so, so, so much that is wrong with the finish of today's LSU-Tennessee game. It's an affront to football coaches and players everywhere, and slap in the face to every person who would say that armchair quarterbacks know nothing.

It's heartbreak for Tennessee fans, deliverance for LSU fans, and high comedy for the rest of us. I It's basically the best and worst college football can produce, in five short minutes. It's a snuff film, with sane and logical decision-making offed on-screen — and it's one of the best advertisements this sport could ever produce for its lovely chaos.

Holly did the breakdown. And the video is after the jump.

Colorado Football Keeps It Green (And Gross)

Ralphie's Green Stampede Initiative is a zero-waste program implemented at Colorado that's admirable in scope -- and leads to some messy stadium encounters for volunteers:

But what happens when football fans throw away their half-eaten nachos and candy wrappers after the game? Last season, Elizabeth Rohr, a sophomore psychology student, volunteered along with her sorority to sort through what fans were disposing. She said there were separate receptacles -- one for food and another for recycled items.

"It was so gross," Rohr said. "If someone threw away part of a hot dog, we had to peel open the foil, take the hot dog out to throw it away, then save the foil."

Man, somebody's sorority sisters HATE her right now.

TCU Suffocating Colorado State, Producing High-Grade Rams Futility

You may have seen the score for today's TCU-Colorado State game creep across a bottom line and wondered why it was so narrowly in TCU's favor. Well, it's certainly not because Colorado State is good.

TCU's doing a great impression of Eric Crouch-era Nebraska and threshing the Rams on the ground. In the early minutes of the fourth quarter, the Horned Frogs have 290 yards on 42 carries, which is helping make up for the paltry 70 passing yards Andy Dalton has racked up. But the defense is destroying Colorado State.

The Rams have three first downs. One of them just happened on their second play of more than 10 yards today; it got Colorado State into TCU territory for the first time. The Rams have six three and outs, and another drive ended on the third play, a fumble. TCU isn't proving a lot today, but the Horned Frogs are definitely confirming that Colorado State is one of the worst teams in college football.

Bobby Cox Honored By Braves In Pre-Game Ceremony, Probably Felt Uncomfortable

Prior to Saturday's game against the Phillies -- a hugely important game in and of itself -- Braves manager Bobby Cox was honored in a ceremony on the Turner Field grass in light of his imminent retirement. Like most managers, Cox isn't an attention-seeker, and I'd imagine that the ceremony made him feel equal parts touched and uncomfortable. Some of the ceremony's highlights:

- Chipper Jones, in his turn to speak, took the opportunity to mention that reliever Peter Moylan has, on at least one occasion, danced naked in the locker room to techno music. This elicited a mixture of cheers and AAAAAGHHGHs from the crowd.

GameDay Meta: Clever Ducks Are Clever

It's not the gold standard in GameDay signage, but what is, really:

2010_october_2_10_37_30_medium

Simple. Elegant. To the point. Especially when taking the early West Coast start time into account, Oregon fans are crushing it today.
