Greetings!
Allow us to send love and infinite thankyous to the fair-minded folk that
attended the Cathy Davey tour this month – from the glórious ennis opener,
through every dulcet duet with Elaine Okeeffe,
from the full band dublin rock-outery to the
“oh hey, there’s ber, oh shite, what’re the lyrics” cork night,
…all through to waterford’s knees up with keith & steve sneaking on for the last couple of songs.
each moment a doozie! x

(if you haven’t checked out the song universe tipping from her new album the nameless,
let it say hello!)

nextly, a couple of the guys will be heading north westerly for some sligo action come fridayly!

Twas a glórious start last night in Ennis, first of a string of solo
support shows to the beauteous Cathy Davey and her effin mesmeric
band!

Our Little Secrets have a full band show this friday as part of Dublin’s Hard Working Class Heroes gig in the Mercantile too, a little after 8 bells.

10th September, 2010

This next week sees a knees up at the waterford harvest festival, (Gavin Glass & band host the show with covers & originals from Our Little Secrets, Lisa Hannigan, Cathy Davey, Jape, Jerry Fish and more!),
a solo-ey type gig down in UL, and then another sweet sweet knees up down at the Set Theatre in kilkenny.
bladdy brilliant!

29th August, 2010

C’mere! the song ‘naturesway’ was officially released as a single just right this very second!!
here it is on i-tunes for a quid,
or you can buy it and the previously unreleased Our Regards for a quid and a half instead.
Alternatively, you might like to download it through your garageband from here or something….x

Recorded by Ber Quinn in a big house in a field in Kildare, the strings were arranged by Cormac Curran, who also managed to play drums and chimes on the track (and keys on the rest of the record).
Keith Farrell played double bass, and mixed the other 11 album tracks, just for good measure.
Shane Holly can be seen playing his lovely electric in this version from leafy mid-july.

Our regards is the final track from the album’s original recording sessions, Gavin Glass produced it (and the rest of the album!) and weighed in on electric guitar and banjo. Ross Turner, who played the sweet sweet drums, can be heard playing with gav in his recent interview on radio 1

p.s. classic

biography

Our Little Secrets, the Dublin-based band whose debut album is currently coming up for air, are the collective efforts of chief composer Rhob Cunningham and a merry band of like-minded cohorts. 'Good or Bad Thing', taken from Our Little Secrets' debut album, will be released on March 5th. The track, which features guest vocals from Lisa Hannigan, is the first single from the album which is set to be released on May 7th.

Sporting the considerable talents of the likes of Hannigan, Cathy Davey and Jenny Lindfors, Rhob Cunningham's musical project has piqued the interest of just about anyone who's heard it. Rhob has spent the last few years playing songs and breaking E strings in every venue imaginable in Ireland. This incessant touring has led to supporting roles including Lisa Hannigan, Bell X1, Cathy Davey, Mundy, Mick Flannery and the late John Martyn, as well as backing vocal duties on Hannigan's debut album 'Sea Sew'.

Rhob, along with a selection of truly musical humans, ensconced themselves in to various studios, basements, attics and kitchens in Wicklow and Kildare, not leaving until the basis for a full length album was in the bag. So now, some moons later, it's all ready to go and time to set it loose on some fresh pairs of ears. Produced by the venerable Gavin Glass and mixed by Keith Farrell (The Duckworth Lewis Method), & mastered in the late Liam Clancy's studio in Dungarvan, the album features the strumming, hitting and plucking of Cormac Curran (Villagers/Cathy Davey), Ross Turner (Jape/I Am The Cosmos), Shane Holly (Jennifer Evans & The Ripe Intent) and other assorted family and friends.

A national tour in support of the album will come early in the summer.
