Scholarship Awarded to Daria Hrytsay

This year the Al Cerilli Manitoba Federation of Labour Scholarship was offered to members of MFL affiliated unions who are 35 years of age or younger. The money is to be used by the scholarship recipient to help cover the cost of their continuing education or a post-secondary program at a recognized institution.

The winner of the 2010 scholarship selected by the MFL Young Members Committee was Daria Hrytsay, COPE 342. The scholarship cheque was presented to her by MFL President Kevin Rebeck (2nd from left), and the co-chairs of the MFL Young Members Committee, Mike Skaftfeld (on left in photo), President of CUPE Manitoba, and Greg McFarlane of IBEW Local 2085.

Sister Hrytsay is working toward a degree in Economics/Labour Studies at the University of Manitoba.
