VW Amarok Pickup Coming To The US?
I’m going to file this under “extremely doubtful”, but it’s my job to tell you about it anyway. If you live in South America, Australia or Europe, you already know that the Amarok is a mid-size pickup built by Volkswagen and available in a multitude of cab configurations and drivetrains. Buyers can opt for either gas or diesel motors, rear wheel drive or all wheel drive and single cab or double cab layouts. The Amarok is stylish, well built and from everything I’ve read, reasonably capable off road. So why don’t we get it on this side of the pond?
Ford Racing Supercharger Kits Announced For 2011 Mustang GT
Do you want a new Shelby GT 500, but lack the $50,000 or so it takes to bring one home? Can you afford a 2011 Mustang GT, with a little left over for some bolt on horsepower? I you answered yes, I’ve got some really good news for you: Christmas has come early this year, and Ford Racing is rolling out three new supercharger kits for the 2011 5.0 liter Mustangs.
The Stig Is Ben Collins? Maybe.
Chances are better than average that RideLust readers are fans of TopGear; even if you hate the show for it’s British sensibilities and anti-American leaning, you still know who the Stig is. Just in case you’ve recently awakened from a 15 year coma, here’s a brief explanation: the Stig is a (somewhat) tamed racing driver, unleashed weekly to flog cars at maximum velocity around the Top Gear test track. Some say his testicles are shaped like the Silverstone circuit, and that his blood is actually synthetic motor oil. All we know is that he’s called the Stig, and his identity has been the subject of mystery and controversy for years.
Will Power Dominates IndyCar Grand Prix Of Sonoma
One year ago, Team Penske driver Will Power thought his racing career had come to a sudden and horrific end. Cresting a hill at Infineon Raceway, Power was unaware that Nelson Phillippe’s disabled car blocked the track ahead. Power hit Phillipe broadside at triple digit speeds, breaking his back in two places in the process.
Corvette ZR1 Hoonage: By Juan Pablo Montoya
Juan Pablo Montoya is one of those guys who was probably born with a steering wheel in his hands. The guy is a Monaco Grand Prix Champion, Nascar driver and Indy 500 winner, so when it comes to wheeling a car around a race track and getting the most out of it, this is the guy to talk to. The video here is of Juan (that’s right, I’ll just call him Juan) kicking the ever-loving-snot out of a Corvette ZR1 at GM’s proving grounds in Milford, Michigan. As you’re watching the video make sure to take a look at his handy work behind the wheel. Look at his hand placement, listen to him ask his passenger “Why are you sweating?”, but most of all listen to him giggle… you see that right there is the telltale sign that you are driving an amazing automobile. Some snobby enthusiasts may rag on the Corvette ZR1 because the seats suck (and they do) and because it has somewhat of a sub-par interior. Those things aside though, this car is one of the best super cars on the planet today, period.

Gymkhana Grid: The Preview
Back on August 7th Ken Block put together a test event for the new Gymkhana Grid Series. This series is the first of its kind that brings the super sideways, smoke throwing action of Gymkhana stateside. As Gymkhana Master Ken Block puts it, the sport is really a combination of three different driving disciplines; drifting, rallying and auto-x. It not only promotes the automobile itself, but the true skills of the driver by showcasing their ability to control the automobile whilst it being on the edge of control through a timed closed course. The first sanctioned Gymkhana event will take place during the Ken Block invitational in December of this year, so stay tuned as we’ll be bringing you full coverage.

Spy Shots: 2011 Dodge Charger in the Fast and Furious 5
Now here’s something the automotive community has been waiting for. These are the first real shots of the new 2011 Dodge Charger as brought to you by Autoblog.com. Apparently these pics where nabbed on the set of the new Fast and the Furious 5 movie that is currently shooting in Puerto Rico. There has been a lot speculation as to the changes that would be made to the Charger during the redesign process. The changes however, although quite substantial are really not as drastic as people first thought.
2011 Ford Edge: First Impressions
You can tell a lot about a vehicle, especially a big crossover, by driving it hard on narrow, winding, hilly roads. You can tell even more about a vehicle when you do this in the rain, on slippery, winding, hilly roads. I’m happy to say that the handling of both the 2011 Ford Edge and the 2011 Ford Edge Sport is better than you’d expect from a mid-size crossover, but I’m even happier to say that the 2011 Ford Edge Sport was designed and built by drivers, for drivers.
