Summer Bee Cake

Sep. 9, 2010

cute food photos - Summer Bee Cake

Bzzzzzzt bzzzzzzt bzzzzzzz… I love sweet smiling li’l bees! And I adore the border around the bottom of the cake that looks like peas. I know it’s not peas, because that would be just ridiculous, but I think it’s just the silliness that makes me love it. Bees like peas, do they not? They sure like the blossoms, pollinatin’ away like they do. Bzzzzzzzz…

Nibbled Nibbles

cute food photos - Nibbled Nibbles

Why is it that food on sticks is so darned adorable? Same goes for food that looks like it’s been partially eaten, super duper cute! I know ladybugs don’t eat leaves, but I like the idea of these cute little buggins munching right through to the other side. The sparkly sugar border of the delicate lavender butterflies is also awesome; you certainly can’t go wrong with sparkles! Thank you food technology for allowing us to eat glitter! The world will never be the same.

Sushiflower

cute food photos - Sushiflower

I love sushi on a summer day, so refreshing and clean and healthy and gorgeous. I don’t know if I’ve ever had sushi this pretty though, the flower pattern is really outstanding. Did you know there is an eyeshadow shade by MAC called Sushi Flower? It’s a gorgeous reddish pink, I’d wear it while eating this sushi flower for sure. There’s an idea: I’ll start planning my makeup to go with my meals!

Hedgehogs on a Stroll

Sep. 7, 2010

cute food photos - Hedgehogs on a Stroll

Despite the fact that the yellow fondant on the cake looks a bit like melted cheese on a big burger patty, I really want to take a walk through a field of blossoms with these (literally) sweet little hogs. They should have cute little British names like Reginald, Horace and Gertie. Done! Join us, won’t you?

Knitted Fruity Friends!

cute food photos - Knitted Fruity Friends!

The lemon’s crooked little smirk slays me. I’m broken by the cute. Sadly, in my house these would become instant cat toys and be lost under the stove within an hour. I wish I could have nice things, stupid cats.

Itty Bitty Button Cookies

cute food photos - Itty Bitty Button Cookies

This is what I’d imagine Debbie Gibson would create had she started her own line of craft products following the success of Electric Youth instead of fading away for a while and showing up on Broadway in the premiere of the Beauty and the Beast Musical (among many other starring roles of course). I loved Electric Youth and had both the terrible perfume and the lipgloss that she marketed with the album. That was the coolest lipgloss ever. Thanks Debbie!

Coconut Rainbow Cake

Sep. 5, 2010

cute food photos - Coconut Rainbow Cake

You guys, I went to the most amazing wedding last week, they got married in this gorgeous natural amphitheater and told stories about unicorns and kittens and love and at the end we all sang “The Rainbow Connection” before we went to the hall to eat pies. The only way it could have possibly been improved is if they had this cake. I hate coconut, so I wouldn’t eat any, but after the singalong, I’d really love to see this being lovingly smashed into someone’s face.

Crepe-cake

Sep. 4, 2010

cute food photos - Crepe-cake

I counted 18 layers of crepe. 18!!! That is a whole lot of stacked food covered in caramel? Peanut butter? Something? And Skittles? This is a serious labor of love, making all those crepes, keeping them warm. I wish someone would take the time to make me something complicated and delicious. I would appreciate it lovingly for a few seconds and then nom it up as fast as I can.

Puppy Cake for Daddy

Sep. 3, 2010

cute food photos - Puppy Cake for Daddy

I want to be someone’s daddy now. Not like that, geez. I just want this cake. And I want it to be made of ceramic so I can keep it on a shelf forever with my collection of dusty knick-knacks from around the world.  I appreciate them, I do, I’m just super lazy about dusting all that crap. No one notices anyway, right?
